Philosophy
The concept of health and disease
Here we discuss the fundamental differences between Homeopathy and conventional medicine. Such an understanding is vitally important in order to appreciate why Homeopathy is so effective.
Organon study
The Organon is the guiding text of Classical Homeopathy, and is the foundation of all Homeopathic philosophy. A thorough understanding of this essential text is provided.
The concept of the Vital Force
Our energetic understanding of health and disease is based on this concept.
Homeopathic History and development
In year 1 we introduce the ideas of Samuel Hahnemann, that formed the foundation of the Science and Art of Homeopathy. In year 2 we show the ideas that moved Homeopathy onward since Hahnemann, bringing in the work of Boenninghausen, Hering, and importantly, Kent. We believe it is important to show that Homeopathy is a science, and has continually developed over the decades since its discovery.
Principles of Classical Homeopathy
Homeopathy, unlike conventional medicine, is based on solid laws and principles. A thorough exploration of these principles is conducted, covering the ideas of:
- Theory of suppression
- Direction of Cure
- Miasms theory
Case-taking skills & analysis
Once an understanding of the principles of Homeopathy are established, we begin to explore how these ideas are implemented in case-taking. Students have the opportunity to try out their case-taking skills on family and friends, thereby developing an understanding of the role of the Homeopathic Practitioner.
Homeopathic history and development
In years 3 and 4 we study the development of Homeopathy from Kent to the modern day. Many courses stop at the teachings of Kent, but we insist on teaching the developments that have taken place in Homeopathy in the last hundred years. For Homeopathy to continue to call itself a science, we believe this is vital. Any discipline that is focused on developments that happened over a hundred years ago cannot call itself a science.
Advanced case-taking skills & analysis
This section of the module covers the methodologies that have been developed in the past fifty years. We will provide a thorough grounding in these methodologies, so that you can apply them with confidence in your practice. Our teaching of these methodologies goes far further than all other courses, which only present these approaches at an introductory level, if at all. At other colleges, interested students are then forced to study these methods in their own time.
We know because we have students from every other college attending our postgraduate courses.
We believe that this is unacceptable. If these modern methods can lead to greater success in patient care, then they should be taught thoroughly on any undergraduate course. As a student of the Aroga School, you will gain a thorough understanding of these methods, and therefore will have no need for postgraduate study in these methods.
Practical and advanced miasm theory
The theory of miasms is one of the major pillars of classical homeopathic philosophy. Whilst years 1 and 2 looked at the conventional view of miasms, in years 3 and 4 this theory is brought completely up to date and presented to you in an easily accessible manner. |
